Frankfurt, 09.09.2011
The Supervisory Board of the Frankfurt-based Deutsche Immobilien Chancen AG & Co. KGaA (not to be confused with the stock exchange listed company DIC Asset AG) has appointed Sonja Wärntges (44) to the Board of Directors with effect from 1 September 2011. She will be taking over the role of CFO, hitherto performed by Dr. Ignace Van Meenen (43). At the same time, Van Meenen, who was appointed to the Board of Directors of DIC in March 2008, is leaving the company at his own request, to take on a new professional challenge. Ulrich Höller (45, CEO) and Johannes von Mutius (42, COO) will continue as members of the Board of Directors of the Deutsche Immobilien Chancen Group.
Sonja Wärntges, a graduate in Economics, has been Head of Finance, Accounting and Budget Management at the fashion retailing chain C&A Group in Düsseldorf since 2005. She is a recognised financial expert who acquired her CFO expertise in various management positions in the finance departments of well-known companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
Prof. Gerhard Schmidt, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Immobilien Chancen AG & Co. KGaA: "On behalf of the Supervisory Board, I would like to thank Dr. Van Meenen for his commitment and always highly valuable contribution to the Board of our company. In Sonja Wärntges, DIC has gained a financial expert who, with so much expertise, is ideally placed to continue driving our company forwards”.
In addition, since 1 August 2011, Kai M. Dreesbeimdiek (46) has been providing additional support for the development activities of the DIC Group as member of the management team. Dreesbeimdiek will head up the development team jointly with the Director for Development, Stefan Blümm. While Blümm will continue to have overall responsibility and be in charge of technical matters and planning, Dreesbeimdiek will be mainly responsible for acquisitions and commercial development as well as commercial project management. With this new appointment, DIC is making the leadership team even more broadly based, in order to drive forward existing projects and be able to operate as effectively as possible on the attractive property market. Dreesbeimdiek has many years of experience in the sector, most recently as a director of the KIB Group (Nuremberg).
